I am a simple person... Simple
person as opposed to being complex... Things are either right or wrong, seldom
in between... There are white issues, black issues and even grey issues - but
were I to be given only two choices, most things would be black or white to
me...
I am known for being a person
who says what they mean and mean what they say - you may not like what I have to
say, or even agree with my perspective of something, but you will know where I
stand on most issues... I dislike 'wishy-washy' things and that's not because I
haven't been this myself -- but because if you are undecided on something, I
would hope it is because you haven't gathered enough information to make an
informed decision on something... Not because you're afraid you will not give
the 'politically correct' stance, you are afraid that you won't be liked because
of your opinions or are simply trying to be one of those 'nice-nice' people...
I was raised to be polite, but
I am an assertive person... There's a BIG difference between being aggressive
and assertive... Assertive (at least to me) means that I will stand up for my
rights and beliefs (even if I am standing alone)... Aggressive means that
someone will not only stand up for their rights and beliefs, but will also
disregard others' rights and beliefs in doing so... Aggressive people can be
borderline bullies (something that annoys me), but I tend to sit back and
observe before I immediately jump to someone else's defense (unless they can't
defend themselves - such as children, animals and senior folks)...
I have been writing most of my
life and I'm told I am an 'auto-writer'... I write as I think... That can be a
scary thought!... However, I was not educated to write and have been known to
misspell something and/or not have the pristine grammar that writers usually
have... I write from the heart and with a passion... Grammar and spelling are
not necessarily things that are high on my priority list --- getting my message
across is more important...
Throughout my lifetime I have
gotten involved in MANY causes for I have a wide variety of interests... I tend
to think more about things than maybe many people do --- and probably at a more
basic level... I guess the biggest difference is that now that I am 'older than
dirt', I don't care or worry about how people will think about me and tend to be
more vocal about things I've been thinking about... Although I am just as
vulnerable as the next person, I want to be involved and leave this world a
little bit better than I found it initially... If I fail, at least I tried...
And to me, that's what it is all about!
